    Actually jpeg is the best format for photos. Usually photos aren’t transparent and jpegs allow photos to have a small file size as well as still being good quality. If you use pngs for photos the image size would be too large for websites. Only if you are saving images that need to be transparent or have few colors such as a logo or elements in a template that I would recommend using png.

    jpeg isn’t such a great format actually, it doesn’t even support transparency. i prefer tiff or png
